Bow School

Our Vision

Our Vision

Our vision puts our students and their current, and future lives, at the forefront of all that we do. We intend that every Bow student has the experiences, develops the insights and is equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to ensure that they are World and Career Ready.

 How do we achieve this?

  •  A challenging, high-quality, broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum designed to build confidence, encourage aspiration and enable students to meet the demands of the global world.
  •  First-class pastoral care, underpinned by an engaging personal development curriculum, which supports students in living healthy, safe and fulfilling lives.
  • Visits to universities, work experience and work-related learning, to open students’ eyes to what is possible and allow them to realise their ambitions are within grasp.
  • A wealth of leadership opportunities across year groups stimulate debate, discussion, confidence and team working skills, alongside the opportunity to represent peers.
  • Our network of partnerships aims to extend learning beyond the classroom, offering students real-life work experience and scenarios, exposing them to the global working world and preparing them for life after school.
  • A comprehensive careers programme raises student awareness of the various pathways open to them and intends to broaden horizons, allowing students to discover their next steps and embark on them with confidence.
  • Opportunities for students to have a voice, and the chance to effect real change, gain paid work opportunities post-16, or support the school in receptionist, council and representative roles.
  • Our BowExtra! Programme has been carefully curated to offer students a range of extra-curricular opportunities, from DebateMate and Model UN to clubs and trips on a local, national and international scale.
  • Cultural capital and a portfolio of skills attractive to both employers and universities alike are cultivated in our personal development programme and House Days.

We believe that our enriching and all-encompassing offer supports the achievement of our vision, leading to meaningful success for our young people as evident in their progress, attainment, confidence and character.

Over the years, we have witnessed our students grow in confidence and the skills fundamental to their future development, including their ability to think critically, adapt to changing situations, act with respect and determination, express their thoughts with courage and clarity, manage the challenges of modern life, work independently and outside of their comfort zones.

In 2022, our Sixth Form achieved higher than the national average across almost all performance measures, whilst our GCSE cohort continued to build on our previous successes by achieving our best-ever results. Additionally, our alumni have progressed to study an impressive variety of subjects at a range of leading universities, including Oxbridge and Russell Group institutions, whilst others have forged successful careers in several sectors including politics, law, the arts, marketing, teaching, media, medicine and much more.
