Welcome to our World Summer Festival

Bow’s Summer Bonanza

Welcome To Our World Summer Festival – open to everyone

 Saturday 13th July 11am–2pm

We are delighted to invite you to our summer festival. This July we will be celebrating the diversity of our school by hosting an event to recognise the wide ranging cultural influences that make up Bow School.

Our fantastic volunteers will be cooking up a feast, showcasing food from the 36 different nationalities that make up our school community. Each country will have its own stand where you can sample the food and discover more about its cultural heritage. It looks set to be a taste sensation!

On top of this, we are going to be entertained by a host of top quality performances, including our very own Bow musicians. We have no doubt that with this line up it will be a treat for the ears as well as the taste buds.

For the active amongst you, our sports leaders will be on hand to organise a series of games like basketball, athletics and table tennis.

We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, Henry Wiltshire Estate Agents, for allowing us to make this possible. Alongside all of their other support, they have organised a Welcome To Our World colouring competition with some amazing prizes (see below).

First Prize = Apple iPad Mini (worth £399 approx)

Second Prize = Dr Dre Beats EP On Ear Headphones (worth £79 approx)

Third Prize = Amazon Recommended Portable Phone Charger (worth £20 approx)

If you want to enter then all you have to do is download the competition document and colour it in as closely as you can to the real thing. Points will be awarded for the accuracy of your final piece, but also for the creativity displayed in the space outside of the globe design.

All entries will need to be handed in to the Henry Wiltshire representatives on the day of the festival. They will have a stall on the school site and will collect your entries in person. Please Note : you will not be able to enter the competition if you do not attend the event as this is the only way that your entries can be collected.

You can download the colouring competition document here.

Parental Volunteers

As you might expect there will be plenty of opportunities for parents to help out. Here are some of the ways :

  1. Volunteer to provide some food and drink to represent your home country on one of our stalls. This is an ideal opportunity for all the fantastic home cooks out there to create some authentic food which we can offer to the festival visitors during the festival. As a result of our sponsorship we will be able to offer anyone who does this some financial help with their contribution. Again contact Mr Morris via his e-mail : morrisj@bow-school.org.uk if you want more information.
  2. Become one of our “Parent Performers”. We will have two stages running throughout the event so have plenty of time for our talented parents, or relatives, to entertain us with something that would represent their homeland. If you feel that you have an item that could fit with our theme then please do get in touch with Mr Morris via his e-mail : morrisj@bow-school.org.uk.
  3. Take part in the event planning, organising and on the day event management. If you are the kind of person who likes to get involved in an organisational capacity then we will have a job for you to do. Once again the person to contact is Mr Morris via his e-mail : morrisj@bow-school.org.uk.

Of course there will be plenty of other possible ways that you can get involved so do contact Mr Morris if there is something that you think would make a valuable contribution to the day and the celebration of diversity the Welcome To Our World Summer Festival will represent

We look forward to seeing you all on the day!
